American Friendship Foundation Board Members

All of the AFF Board members have volunteered their time, talents and resources to build the American Friendship Foundation (AFF) into an organization that has a significant and long lasting impact on our world.

Randal J. Pinney ­ AFF Chairman and President rjpinney@affhope.org Current Day Job is with SAVVIS Communications Randal has 25 years of experience as a manager and director of computer and telecommunication companies including AT&T, Sprint, Wang Laboratories and SAVVIS Communications. He has also served as Director and Chairman of a number of non-profit boards. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota ­ Duluth -- School of Business Administration - Finance and Economics.

Randy is actively involved with searching out new projects and working with the "entrepreneurial" individuals who are looking for assistance in making their passion to help others become a reality

Sherman L. Stevens - CPA, MBA ­ AFF Treasurer and Vice President sstevens@affhope.org

Currently serving full-time for non-profit organizations Sherman spent twenty-three years as Manager of Cost Accounting and Budget, Controller and Acting Chief Financial Officer with Regence Blue Shield, finance and accounting positions with The Boeing Company. Sherm has a BA in Accounting from the University of Washington; and a MBA from the University of Puget Sound. Sherman has served continuously in Finance positions for a number of Non-Profit organizations. Sherman has been involved with American Friendship Foundation since its inception.

David C. Carlson - Secretary and Vice President dcarlson@affhope.org

Current Day Job is with: Agros International David has a strong background in the banking, finance and investment world based on his experience working for Laney & Company Investment Brokerage and Summit Savings. David is a graduate of the University of Washington in Public Health & Community Medicine. David brings a wealth of experience to AFF having traveled extensively to Central and South American as part of his community land and housing work with Agros, and he is fluent in Spanish making him a great asset in our work in Central America.

Tricia Mayer ­ AFF Board Member tmayer@affhope.org

Current Day Job is with: Microsoft Corporation Tricia is a business executive with 18 years of experience developing business strategy, building sales and marketing organizations, creating channel programs, building business partnerships and developing people. She has worked in several hi-tech organizations, a large non-profit organization, and has her own consulting company. Tricia has received B.A. Business Management from Saint Marys College and also spent 4 years with the US Air Force ­ Environmental Technician for Mobile Combat Unit stationed in Europe. Tricia brings her marketing and management skills to AFF to help get the AFF message out.

Clifford E. Moon AFF Board Member cmoon@affhope.org

Current Day Job is with Moon Construction Company - President Cliff is a business owner and entrepreneur. Cliff has founded a number of companies. He is the President of InfoSmart of America, a non-profit corporation for training and education in Central Asia; and the Director of the Central Asian Dynamics Corporation, a non-profit corporation operating in Central Asia. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Oceanography from the University of Washington; a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington; and has began work on his Civil Engineering Doctorate Degree. Cliff has taught Oceanography classes at Seattle Community College; Coastal Hydraulics at the University of Washington; and is a visiting faculty lecturer to the Kazak-American Free University in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. Cliff has been involved with AFF since its inception and has acted as Director of Engineering for many AFF projects in Central Asia.

Current Day Job is with: Corbis Corporation - Chuck is a CPA with experience and knowledge in the implementation and support of computer based financial/accounting systems. Chuck has also worked as the VP of Operations managing the Operations and Accounting functions for a wholesale distribution company; and was a Partner in a local accounting firm. He is currently on the board of several non-profit organizations. Chuck is a graduate of the University of Akron, School of Business Administration, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Chuck joined the board of AFF with the expectation that his experience will have a positive impact on AFF¹s ability to achieve its mission.
