American Friendship Foundation
The American Friendship Foundation (AFF) is an organization founded in 1995 to encourage and promote cross-cultural friendship and goodwill in developing nations. We do this by collaborating with highly-skilled American development workers, who are committed to serving the poor, speaking the local language, knowing the people, and understand their needs and concerns. These AFF partners develop programs that address pressing human need for clean water, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

Strategy and Vision
Our strategy and vision is to select worthy developing world humanitarian projects to work with and then provide a very trustworthy and well respected organization through which individuals, schools and businesses can direct their charitable contributions, confident that 100% of that gift will reach the designated project, and the monies will be used effectively.

The Projects
AFF project managers have a vision and a passion to see a project happen they work directly with people in developing world communities to identify and develop projects that address the root causes of poverty in their community, not just the symptoms of poverty. AFF focuses on projects in the categories listed below: Clean Water and Reliable Food Supplies -- Fresh water wells and agricultural training Education -- Build schools, provide school equipment, supplies and teacher training Healthcare -- Visiting doctors, field medical clinics and basic health care instruction Economic Development Providing Micro loans, job skills and teacher training

Measure our Success
We measure success for each project differently, but in general success will be based upon how many wells deliver clean water, how many students are now attending school, how many children are receiving better health care, how many school lunches are being served, or how many families are better off today than they were last year.

The People
AFF is willing to offer a hand of friendship and assistance to people who are in need anywhere in the world, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background.

The Money
AFF goal is to send 100% of your gift to support your designated Project Fund. AFF's desire is to pay for fundraising and domestic administrative costs with gifts specifically designated for AFF's Administrative Fund. We need and appreciate gifts to this Administrative Fund to pay the bills so that 100% of gifts designated for a Project will go to that Project. AFF also has a General Project Fund, if you chose to give to this Fund AFF will allocate 100% of your gift toward the Project in most need of funding at that time.

AFF adheres to financial principals and practices for accountability recommended by independent financial watchdog organizations. AFF feels that all charities must be fully accountable to their donors. That is why we follow accounting procedures established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. You can find more information about AFF on GuideStar.

The Next Step
AFF suggests that you find a project that you feel strongly about (or even passionately about,) and then generously support that project to the degree that you have the financial resources.

However, AFF wants to do more than just fix problems, we want people to build new Friendships, new Purpose and new Hope; we want you to take the next step and get involved with helping Your Project. You can start your involvement by simply telling others about the project. Another option is to host an event in your home where you invite friends and family over and an AFF representative comes by to give a short presentation about the projects. A big step on getting involved is to visit or even work on a project overseas that is open to visitors and workers.
